Mountain Guides Heiligenblut

Since 1870, the Heiligenblut Mountain Guides have been the trusted local experts for Austria’s highest peaks, especially around the majestic Großglockner.

As locals of the Hohe Tauern, we know these mountains inside out and are eager to share the fascination of climbing the Großglockner with you. From the classic routes starting in Heiligenblut or Kals, to famous ridge ascents like the Stüdlgrat, or challenging north face climbs such as the Pallavicini Couloir or the Mayer Couloir – our guides will take you to the top of the Großglockner on a wide range of routes.

Most of our guided tours start from the Salmhütte or Stüdlhütte. We also work closely with the Erzherzog Johann Hut (Adlersruhe) and the Kalser mountain guides. The normal route from Heiligenblut – the historic first
ascent, also known as the Bischof-Salm Route – is our standard way up the Großglockner. Thanks to its breathtaking scenery and well-established infrastructure, the Großglockner is the ideal peak to climb. We also offer exclusive mountain guide vouchers for the Großglockner.v

Beyond the Glockner Group, we also guide in other mountain ranges of the region, such as the Schober Group, the Sonnblick Group, and the Lienz Dolomites – offering a variety of climbing and alpine tours.

We are also active in winter. A highlight is the guided ski tour to the Großglockner, which can be completed as a one- or two-day trip. In addition, we offer many other winter activities – including climbing, freeriding, ski tours, and training courses in Heiligenblut, the Mölltal, Upper Carinthia, and East Tyrol.
